Nigerian reggae gospel artist Buchi Atuonwu is popularly known by his stage name Buchi. As a disc jockey in nightclubs, he began his career as a disc jockey.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the prestigious AMEN Award for Best Gospel Album in 1999, as well as the POMP Award for Best Reggae Album, the TOMA Award for Best Artiste and the Faith Award for Best Gospel Album.
